Application for a Birth Certificate
Documents required for an application are as follows:
- a photo of the child
- a copy of the child’s Birth Certificate issued by Australian Authority and certified by a Justice of Peace (JP)
- a copy of parent’s passport
- a copy of parent’s Thai National ID Card
- a copy of parent’s Thai House Registration
- a copy of parents’ Marriage Certificate
In the case that the parents are not married and the child will be using the father’s name, the father must sign a letter stating his acceptance of the child and giving consent to the use of his surname
Fee: Free of charge
Processing time: 7 working days
A Birth Certificate must to be collected within 30 days after an application has been lodged.
If a Birth Certificate cannot be collected in person, please provide an Express Post Envelop with an address to be returned by post.
Application for a Death Certificate
Documents required for an application are as follows:
- a Thai passport of the deceased
- a Death Certificate issued by an Australian Authority
- a copy of the passport of the person reporting the death
Fee: Free of charge
Processing time: 7 working days
A Death Certificate must be collected within 30 days after an application had been lodged.
If a Death Certificate cannot be collected in person, please provide an Express Post Envelop with an address to be returned by post.
Application for a Marriage Certificate
1. Please contact the Consulate-General at (02) 9241 2542 to make an appointment
2. Documents required by the couple for an application are as follows:
- a Passport and a copy
- a copy of Thai National ID Card
- a copy of Thai House Registration
- a Divorce Certificate (if applicable)
- a Single Status Certificate which may be obtained from the District Offices.
In the case that the bride or groom is a non-Thai, a copy of a passport and a Single Status Certificate must be submitted.
3. Two witnesses must be present during the lodgment of the application with their Thai National ID Card or Passport together with a copy

Application for a Divorce Certificate
1. Please contact the Consulate-General at (02) 9241 2542 to make an appointment
2. Documents required by the couple for an application are as follows:
- a Passport and a copy
- a copy of Thai National ID Card
- a copy of Thai House Registration
- a Marriage Certificate held by each party
Both parties must be present and voluntarily apply for a divorce certificate
3. Two witnesses must be present during the lodgment of the application with their Thai National ID Card or Passport together with a copy
