Mr. Kiattikhun Chartprasert

 

Mr. Kiattikhun Chartprasert took up appointment as Thai Consul-General to Sydney in April 2007. Prior to taking up his current post, he was in the position of Deputy Director-General of the Department of Information Affairs, which also served in the capacity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ deputy spokesperson.

Mr. Kiattikhun joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1983. As a career diplomat, he served as First Secretary at the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Guangzhou and later on as the Minister Counsellor at the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur. He has comprehensive experience working in many departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs namely Department of Political Affairs, Department of ASEAN Affairs, Department of Economic Affairs, and Office of the Minister. During 1996-2000, He was appointed Chief of the Foreign Service Section, taking care of the management of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ overseas assets.

Mr. Kiattikhun holds a BA in International Relations (First Class Hanors) from Chulalongkorn University and an MA in International Relations from the Australian National University.

Mr. Kiattikhun is married to Mrs. Jaruwat and has one son.
